About Me:  Leonard Gundersen. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I have been a dog lover all my life. As a boy I was a breeder of Eskimo Spitz.

I’m going to tell you why I have something to offer on the subject of dog urine and dog urine solutions. I started a business that I owned and operated for over 15 years. In the beginning it started as a carpet cleaning business.  When I sold the business we were doing full fire and flood restoration contracting, along with all types of cleaning.

We worked extensively with home owner insurance companies and developed a good reputation with them. Through this I dealt with hundreds of urine situations that had to be remedied. The result is I have many years of personal and professional experience eliminating urine and urine odor problems. I was the only IICUC certified carpet inspector in the state of Utah at that time. I also certified in carpet cleaning and several other classifications. I took and completed the odor remediation courses. Many of the courses are geared towards pet urine because it is such a common problem.

I found that the public does not have very good information or products available to them. After being in the business professionally for many years it amazed me that the help available to the general public is so poor. Many of the so-called solutions cause more damage than they do good. Products have been getting better and the internet is helping to get more accurate information to the general public, helping them know what products work and how to use them so they will get results. The goal of this blog is to do just that. Let me know if anything on the blog helps you. Contact me by leaving a message after any post.

  1. No offense taken. It is an issue. More than most could imagine. There are a lot of dogs out there and every one urinates. Often causing problems for dog owners and neighbors of dog owners. I had associate that was going to work with me on this site but he just couldn’t get himself to become the dog urine guy. I somehow was ok with it.

  2. Leonard,

I had a girlfriend’s dog living with me for over a year, and I did not realize it, but he was marking a specific area of my hardwood floors for wuite some time and it was left to soak in. I have 3/4″ red oak floors, and I was wondering if I could send you a picture of the minor warping and staining to get advice on possible solutions. Please let me know if I can somehow do this.

    Thanks,
    Jamie
